Barbour County Youth Hunt

Trail Life Troop AL-0236 and American Heritage Girls Troop AL0236 participated in the 24th annual Barbour County Youth Hunt, spending one night in separate bunk houses. The adults prepared breakfast, featuring delicious breakfast casseroles.

The Barbour County Youth Hunt is the largest youth hunt in the state of Alabama and the 3rd largest in the country. Activities included competitions and field skills stations in addition to hunts.

Event activities included:

  • Archery
  • 2 Shotgun Sporting Clay Shooting Stations
  • BB Gun Shooting Competition
  • 22 Caliber Rifle and Pistol Shooting Competition
  • Turkey Calling
  • Turkey Target Shooting
  • Wilderness Survival Training
  • Sling Shot Shooting
  • Compass Reading
  • Hunting Tree-stand Safety
  • Squirrel Hunting with Dogs (observe from wagons)
  • Rabbit Hunting with Dogs (observe from wagons)
  • Coon Hunting with Dogs (observe from wagons)
