Several families from Troop AL-0236 enjoyed a day trip to 3 museums along with returning the animals loaned by Bud Jones Taxidermy for the troop’s annual awards banquet.
The first stop was the Bud Jones Wildlife Museum. It is always a favorite, which has an amazing variety of animals including bears, wolves, deer, turkeys, fish and birds.
The next museum visited, only a few minutes away, was the West Georgia Museum. This Museum has something for all ages, with replicas of old stores from the late 1800 and early 1900 era along with extensive Indian artifacts and local history archives. Exhibits also include a horse drawn buggy, a restored 1923 Ford Peddlers Wagon, and many antique automobiles. There are a number of wildlife and fowl specimens and even a dinosaur exhibit.
Everyone enjoyed lunch together at State Line BBQ before heading to the Anniston Museum of Natural History. Unfortunately, the museum was closed due to an electrical problem, so everyone headed home to enjoy the Labor Day weekend.
